First Day of School 2008

Ashley and Ethan both started school today and they were so excited, last night we packed their book bags with all their supplies, packed their lunch, and picked out which outfit they wanted to wear today, I was proud of myself because I really let them pick. I was almost positive that they would never fall asleep, because of the anticipation, but they both gave in and got a good nights sleep. Ashley is now in first grade and considers herself almost grown. It was very cute watching her educate Ethan on exactly how everything was going to work in school. Ethan started Kindergarten and once again my heart was a little sad at how fast they are growing. It is crazy to think that now have two babies in school. Don't get me wrong I am definitely going to enjoy the little bit of extra time in the day with just two at home ( I know that doesn't seem like a break to most, but 2 is less than 4). I am so proud of the little people that they are, each with their own fun personalities.

With four kids it is always an event

I missed the kids so much on our trip away that we went and got them a night early and surprised them by taking them to down town Disney, they loved it, but just like any other outing with four kids nothing is smooth sailing. As soon as we arrived we put our names in at the Rain Forest Cafe and were really excited that it was only going to be a 20min wait (which never happens on a Friday night at 7pm, but I guess having 6 people in our party actually worked in our favor). We decided to walk around a little with the kids while we waited. Thats when we came upon the bench with Pooh and his friends and thought it would be fun to take a picture of the kids with the characters. We got the kids all arranged, got out the camera and realized it was out of batteries. So I went in search of batteries while Jeremy waited with the kids, as I walked back up to them the kids started yelling "Hayden threw up , yuck!! yuck!! mom, it is sooooo gross, whew it stinks", then I see Jeremy holding Hayden at arms length not knowing quite what to do. I ushered him to the bathroom to take care of Hayden, while I choraled the others to stay away from the mess and to inform an employee that there was puke by Pooh. I have never been so glad that I was not prepared and my camera needed batteries in my whole life. Lets just say it was nice seeing the daddy have to deal with something that I have had to do several times over in my time as a mom. The rest of the night was great, we were able to eat and enjoy ourselves. The kids loved looking at the characters and toys. They were able to dress up my little pony and mr. potato head as Disney characters, and play with lots of other toys. We even danced a little in the down town center. It was a great night with just a few little hiccups here and there, but with four kids that is to be expected.

Sanication (or my sanity vacation)

I think every mother has moments in there lives where they need a little break for sanity sake, a little time away from the kids to regroup. If you are a mom and have never needed this, than my hat is off to you, because I was in desperate need of one after a fun, but long summer with my babies. My sister Jodi was kind enough to watch the kids for us to escape for a couple of days,so that Jeremy and I could get away. She went from being a working mom of two, to a working mom of six over night. I know she should be appointed for sainthood or at least get a humanitarian award, but I guess just my big THANK YOU will have to do!!!

Jeremy and I enjoyed every minute of our alone time, although I missed my babies from the moment we dropped them off. It is nice to be alone with your spouse to remember why it is that you fell in love, and to remind you that with out them you wouldn't be who you are or have what you have. I am so blessed to have my husband, he is my best friend and although this may sound a little corny I truly believe my soul mate. I don't think there is another person whom I could love as completely as I love him. He makes my heart happy.

The cost of our little get away was a time share tour, we were able to get an awesome rate on a room with some disney tickets in exchange for us sitting through a sales presentation for the resort. As you can see by Jeremy's face it was a total and complete blast (ha ha ha).

Good Friends, Good Times

We were lucky to be able to get together with some of our closest friends this summer. Molly and Chris Bingham and Chris and Mark Cosme are some of our oldest and dearest friends as a couple. We met right after we got married and moved to Tallahassee to go to school. They all had gotten married at the same time, and we all basically grew into adulthood together. We all had babies at about the same time too. Even though the years have moved us all apart we still keep in close contact and when we are able to get together it is like being with family, all of the kids love being together too and get along great , which anyone knows with kids doesn't always happen. We love these guys and hold them close to our hearts.

Molly, Chris (and soon to be friend for Brice), and I. These girls are great,I admire and look up to each of them!!!

All of the crazy babies (1/2 of them are ours)

Ashley and Sadie Bingham. They have been friends since birth, the two never forget about each other and each time they see each other it is like they have never been apart. They must have been close friends in Heaven.

Hayden and Domanic Cosme. These two get along great, two peas in a pod. Both with fun little personalties, always getting into something, just like their daddies.

Ethan and his girls Julia Cosme and Ana Bingham. Ethan loves his girls!!!

Chris, Mark, and Jeremy. All three of these guys although all professionals in their lives are like big kids when they get together.

Footsie with Grandpa

We love spending time at my mom and dad's house. It is so much fun to watch the kids play with grandma and grandpa. They spoil the babies rotten. One of my favorite memories from this trip was watching Brice play footsie with my dad. It was priceless watching them interact.

Ethan's 5th Birthday

My little boy turned 5 and it's hard to believe!!! It seems like just yesterday I found out that I was going to be having my second baby and now he is 5. I couldn't ask for a better little boy. He is all boy always trying to discover new things, not afraid to try most anything, for example this morning his sister came running in the house saying that she had seen a mouse outside, so here comes Ethan sword in hand charging outside ready to take on the mouse. He is fearless, but is also the sweetest little one who makes sure that you know he loves you. I love him so and am blessed to watch him grow everyday.

End of the Summer Trip

We decided to end our summer with a trip to visit family in Florida, that and my sister Jodi offered to watch the kids for Jeremy and I to have a get away for a couple of days. So off we went. Our favorite time to travel is late afternoon into the night because the kids are asleep at least half of the time. They travel really well for the most part and it is really fun to watch and see what position they fall asleep in (notice Ashley's wide open mouth, this is normally how she prefers to sleep in the car). For an eight hour drive they were great!!!!

every superhero needs to have great balance

Swimming at Grandma and Grandpa's

For the first time the kids thought it would be fun to swim in grandma and grandpa's lake. Their cousin Courtney had a sleepover so Jeremy thought he would take them out in the lake for some entertainment. The day started with a trip in the kayak and fishing, before we knew it they were in the lake fully clothed, they loved every minute of it. The highlight for me was watching them tip their dad over out of the boat into the water. I was laughing hysterically (dry in the house) until I had to dry out his wallet and cell phone. Surprisingly his cell phone still works (well kind of, he can at least receive messages and call out). They spent most of the day playing in the water and trying to catch fish. Ashley even succeeded in catching a little one. I can remember swimming and playing in the lake when I was little and I am happy that I was able to watch my kids enjoy the same things that I did., it is like sharing a little piece of my childhood with them.

Girl's Don't Sweat They Perspire

The other day Ashley was playing outside and she said to me "Wow mom it is so hot out here that I am perspiring!" I was caught of guard by here choice of words so I asked her laughing where she had heard the word perspire and what it meant. She told me that her Grandma Watkins had explained to her that girls don't sweat they perspire. Leave it to grandma to teach the correct wording for something. So now every time Ashley is hot she comes in and says "Whew... I am perspiring!!" You have to love grandma!!!!

School Fashion Show

As I was growing up each year my mom would take me school shopping, after we got all of the outfits I would then do a fashion show for my dad. It is a memory that I love and so I decided to start doing the same thing with Ashley and Ethan. The kids loved it!!!! They completely performed and acted like they were real runway models. They would come back into the bedroom and high five each other and complement on how good each other looked in their new cloths. Then they would make an announcement when they were coming back out so that their dad would be ready and would make music for them to model to. It was very cute and will be a tradition that we will continue.
